Frequently Asked Questions

Navigating our health care system can be confusing. Here are some commonly asked questions.

No, this service is not covered by OHIP. Home-based physiotherapy covered by OHIP is funded through the LHIN and a Care Coordinator must assess you for eligibility. Please call 1-888-733-1177 to contact the Central West LHIN and see if you would be eligible for their in-home services.
If you do have an extended health care plan then our services will likely be covered. Please check with your specific insurance provider for details.

Fees vary based on the condition, length of treatment sessions and if the client is located outside of Orangeville. Please call or email for a free quote and to discuss billing.

No, you don’t as physiotherapy is a self-regulated health care profession. However, many insurance companies require a medical referral to access your physiotherapy benefits.

The initial assessment lasts about one hour and includes a thorough subjective assessment and then an appropriate physical assessment. Treatment details and goals are discussed and agreed upon including frequency of subsequent treatment visits. Modalities (such as ultrasound and TENS) and equipment can be brought into the home and home exercise programs are designed to use whatever equipment people may have in their home. Some devices may be lent to the clients as required- for example knee flexion boards and weights for post op knees.

Currently we treat mostly adults and children over the age of 16 years old.
